The Arts Club is proud to present our first VocalEye Described Performance for 4000 Miles. These special performances will be offered at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage and the Granville Island Stage this season.

Each performance listed below will be described for patrons who are blind, partially sighted, and visually impaired. The description will not be audible to the general audience. Ten minutes before the show begins, VocalEye users will hear a brief description of the set, characters, props and costumes. Once the show begins, the VocalEye describer will convey important visual information and physical action, live, between the actors’ lines. Patrons with vision loss can reserve their tickets and description equipment through the Arts Club Box Office. The equipment consists of a handheld receiver and a single plastic earpiece that fits over either ear. The receivers are also compatible with most personal earbuds and headphones. Equipment is available, at no charge, for pickup at the VocalEye table in the lobby up to one hour before showtime.

“It really brings a different element to theatre that I’ve never experienced before.”
